The following professorship is to be filled at the earliest possible date in the Department of Computer Science.
The range of tasks of this professorship includes teaching on the topics of the area of appointment in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs of the Department of Computer Science. Appropriate participation in basic courses of computer science is also part of the tasks. Furthermore, the willingness to establish and expand research and transfer activities as well as commitment to the further development of the face-to-face and distance learning courses of the Department of Computer Science is expected.
Courses are to be offered in German and, if required, also in English.
In addition to a high level of commitment to teaching, participation in the academic self-administration of the university is also expected.
The state of Rhineland-Palatinate and Trier University of Applied Sciences support a supervision model in which a high level of faculty presence at the university is expected.

For this professorship, we are looking for a committed personality who, after completing a university degree in computer science or a related field, has gained extensive experience in the conception and technical realization of complex extended reality systems (XR systems) in a responsible position in practice/industry and would now like to pass this on to our students in teaching and research.
Furthermore, special achievements in the development and application of scientific knowledge and methods in at least one of the following areas are required:
· specific XR applications, for example related to health technologies or for education and training purposes
· technical aspects of XR systems, for example network or interaction technologies
· XR and artificial intelligence
· Social XR
All other recruitment requirements are set out in Section 49 of the Rhineland-Palatinate Higher Education Act (Hochschulgesetz, HochSchG).
The appointment will be made as a civil servant for life if the relevant requirements under employment law are met.
