The future holder of this position will represent the field of "Intercultural & Sustainable Business Communication" in research and applied teaching. In teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to take on compulsory and elective courses in the bachelor's programs "Sustainable Business and Law," "Sustainable Business and Technology," „Nonprofit and NGO Management“, and „Sustainable Business Administration“, as well as in the master's program „Sustainable Business Administration“.
Courses are to be offered in German and if required also in English. In addition to a strong commitment to teaching, active participation in the university’s academic self-governance is expected. The state of Rhineland-Palatinate and Trier University of Applied Sciences support a supervision model that requires a high level of faculty presence at the university. As a department, we offer a professional, collegial, and supportive environment with ample opportunities to conduct applied research and transfer projects. For this professorship, we are looking for a committed person, who has gained fundamental, professional knowledgeafter completing a university degree in the advertised professorship and can demonstrate a qualified doctorate with links to the field of Intercultural & Sustainable Business Communication.
We expect proven knowledge in the field of intercultural communication and sustainability-related corporate communication, particularly in digital and economic contexts, demonstrated by internationally recognized publications or conference contributions and completion of a relevant degree or scientific research. The ability to connect with existing research fields in the department and the university as well as experience in establishing research collaborations are required. Experience in developing and implementing innovative teaching concepts in a university context in the abovementioned areas is also an advantage.
We expect the future holder of this position to teach courses in English and German. Therefore, a very good command of German (at least C2 level) and English (at least C1 level) is required. Good knowledge of another European language such as French is advantageous.
In addition to the general labour law requirements, the recruitment requirements include at least
1. a successfully completed university degree in the above-mentioned field
2. pedagogical aptitude,
3. a special aptitude for scientiilc work, which is usually demonstrated by a qualified doctorate, and
4. in addition, special achievements in the application or further development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least five years of relevant professional practice, of which at least three years must have been spent outside the university sector.
The appointment is made as a tenured civil servant if the relevant legal requirements are met.
