The future holder of this position will represent the field in teaching and applied research in an interdisciplinary environment with a focus on therapeutic sciences. We also expect the successful candidate to be willing to establish and expand research and transfer activities and to be committed to the further development of the Department of Computer Science's on-campus and distance learning programs. Courses are to be offered in German (language level C1) and if required also in English.

For this professorship, we are looking for a dedicated individual who, following a university degree in computer science or a related field, has gained extensive experience in the design, development, and implementation of digital systems in healthcare in a position of responsibility and now wishes to pass this on to our students in teaching and research.
In addition, outstanding achievements in the development and application of scientific knowledge and methods are expected in several of the following areas:
· Design and implementation of health information systems and digital platforms
· Lifecycle management and evaluation of digital health solutions
· Interoperability and digital health infrastructures
· Data management, data quality, and data governance in healthcare
· Clinical decision support, data analytics, and artificial intelligence in healthcare delivery
· Process and care pathway optimization, as well as quality assurance in operations and service delivery
· Digital medical devices and digital health applications (DiGA)
· Regulation, data protection, IT security, and ethics in healthcare
In addition to the general legal employment requirements, the minimum qualifications for appointment are:
1. A successfully completed university degree in the above-mentioned field,
2. Demonstrated teaching aptitude, typically evidenced by experience in teaching, training, or relevant further education in higher education didactics,
3. Proven ability to conduct scientific research, usually demonstrated by a qualified doctorate, and
4. Significant achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods through at least five years of relevant professional experience, of which at least three years must have been gained outside the university sector.
All other appointment requirements are outlined in § 49 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.
The appointment is made as a tenured civil servant if the relevant legal requirements are met.
