Description

The following professorship is to be filled at the earliest possible date in the Department of Design atthe Design Campus in Trier:

Tasks

The range of tasks of the professorship includes the management and further development of the TrierWood Competence Center.

The tasks include imparting knowledge about the technical, architectural, ecological and economicpotential within the entire value chain of modern timber construction, which serves as the basis of yourindependent teaching and research concept.

In addition to actively acquiring national and international third-party funding, the professorship shouldcontribute to the international orientation of research.

The management of or participation in research networks as well as cooperation with professorships inthe Department of Design and other faculties of the university is required.

They are actively involved in the promotion of young scientists, particularly with regard to thepromotion of women and the support of social diversity and make a significant contribution to thetransfer of knowledge and technology. These aspects are of central importance for our university inorder to strengthen and further expand our leading position in the field of sustainability and timberconstruction.

Courses are to be offered in German and if required also in English.

In addition to a strong commitment to teaching, active participation in the university’s academic self-governance is expected.

The state of Rhineland-Palatinate and Trier University of Applied Sciences support a supervision modelthat requires a high level of faculty presence at the university.

Recruitment
requirements

For this professorship we are looking for a committed person who has gained extensive practicalexperience in a responsible position after completing a university degree and would now like to passthis on to our students in teaching and research.

With a degree in architecture, civil engineering or timber construction, you will have in-depthknowledge of planning, design and production methods in modern timber construction.

You are expected to have up-to-date research activities, a high level of scientific competence andqualified practical experience, particularly in the context of managing the Timber Competence Center.

All other appointment requirements are outlined in § 49 of the Higher Education Act of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate.

The appointment is made as a tenured civil servant if the relevant legal requirements are met.
